Business Software Applications I gains financial-literacy standards

What happened
The Board unanimously approved embedding career preparation and required financial-literacy instruction in Business Software Applications I. Local systems were authorized to use the revised standards beginning in2026–27.
Why it matters to families
Students taking the course would receive instruction tied to work readiness and personal financial decisions. The resolution embeds existing requirements; it does not establish a new graduation credit or prove implementation at every high school.
The evidence
The June11 minutes record unanimous approval and describe financial literacy as an existing statutory requirement. They direct the Department to provide technical assistance, professional learning and instructional guidance.
