What happened

The board is scheduled to consider a 3% salary-schedule increase for the 2025–26 school year under the educators’ tentative agreement, plus increases for other employee groups. The agenda also proposes a 2% salary increase and 1% off-schedule payment for management and unrepresented staff in 2026–27; final approval and total costs are not established in this agenda.

Why it matters to families

The proposals would raise compensation across employee groups and increase district personnel costs, affecting resources available for district programs. Families should note that the board has not yet acted on the scheduled items.

The evidence

The October 22 agenda lists ratification of the Alum Rock Educators Association tentative agreement, including a 3% increase to the 2025–26 salary schedule; it separately lists 2% for Teamsters and 0.5% for CSEA under their "me, too" provisions, and recommends 3% in 2025–26 plus 2% and a 1% off-schedule payment in 2026–27 for management and unrepresented employees. These are proposed agenda actions, not completed decisions. Document 99029.
