What happened

The board approved moving an existing district employee into a new assistant principal position at Anchor Bay High School, bringing the school's assistant principals from four to five. Administrators said the additional building-level administrator supports the school's career-pathway structure, with an administrator assigned to each wing.

Why it matters to families

This changes the high school's leadership staffing. The board said the role was part of the planned career-pathway structure; administrators also said it was already budgeted and would replace a central-office position.

The evidence

The personnel report described the employee's move as a position change, and the board approved the report after discussion. Members identified the action as adding an assistant principal and said it brings the high school from four to five; an administrator explained that the career-pathway plan included an administrator in each wing and said the shift replaces a central-office position. The vote passed unanimously. (Transcript, 01:03:02–01:10:21; 01:10:54–01:11:18.)
