District news
Anderson 4 proposes seizure-response training for staff

What happened
The board will consider a first reading of a new Seizure Safe Schools policy. The draft calls for staff training to recognize seizures, respond appropriately, and administer prescribed medication, plus prominently displayed seizure first-aid information.
Why it matters to families
The policy would establish districtwide procedures and training for responding to student seizures during school and school-sponsored activities; it remains a draft for first reading.
The evidence
The Oct. 12 agenda identifies Policy JLCG, Seizure Safe Schools, as a new policy for first reading. The attached draft says staff will be trained on seizure signs, response strategies, and prescribed medication, and requires state seizure first-aid information to be prominently displayed in district schools and offices (document pp. 1, 10–11).
