2026-27 Code of Conduct adds rules on AI cheating and AI-made fake images

What happened
The 2026-27 Code of Conduct says passing off AI-generated work as your own is plagiarism. It also bans creating or sharing unauthorized AI deepfakes of students or staff, with immediate discipline and possible referral to law enforcement.
Why it matters to families
Students and parents now have written rules for AI use at school. The district does not yet have a separate AI policy, and administrators said broader guidance may come by winter.
The evidence
The Code of Conduct text lists AI misconduct and academic integrity rules. On August 11, 2026 the superintendent told the board the Code had two AI-related parts, one on academic integrity and one on AI used to cause disruption.
