What happened

On June 25, 2026 the superintendent told the board the middle school floods nearly every year. Water stands against the brick for days and the classrooms stay so humid that book pages stick together. She also said the original tile in a back hallway is coming up in pieces. She is looking at epoxy flooring. No money was approved yet.

Why it matters to families

Damp classrooms can harm materials and air quality for students and staff. The superintendent later said the district has little money for drainage or floor repairs.

The evidence

June 25, 2026 recording: "it floods over there pretty much every year ... the water literally just stands along the brick for days and days ... it is so humid in them" and "the tile in that hall ... is literally just falling apart."
