Students must attend 90% of days to stay in extracurriculars

What happened
The board approved new extracurricular rules on August 27, 2026. Students must attend at least 90% of school days each grading period, must be at school the day after an event to play in the next one, and cannot check out early on an event day. Medical excuses will be considered.
Why it matters to families
Students in sports, UIL and other activities could lose eligibility for missed days. The principal said the goal is to raise attendance, which also affects state funding.
