What happened

On Aug 3, 2026 the Board approved a plan to move bell times starting in the 2028-29 school year. The draft times are 7:45 AM to 2:15 PM for grades 4-6, 8:15 AM to 3:00 PM for Pre-K to grade 3, and 8:45 AM to 3:30 PM for grades 7-12. The final schedule must be shared by Jan 31, 2028 and stay within 15 minutes of these drafts.

Why it matters to families

Teens would start school later, and younger students would move to new times too. That changes bus rides, child care, and after-school plans for every family.

The evidence

The Board resolution lists the draft times and the Jan 31, 2028 deadline. The Aug 3, 2026 minutes record the vote as 8-0 with one member absent. The district page says the times are examples and not final.
