What happened

The School Committee unanimously approved transferring $1,378,541 from the Town-held school medical reserve to WB Community Health’s Premium Offset Account. The district said the reserve will be used for future health-care costs and rate stabilization.

Why it matters to families

This moves a substantial existing district reserve into a dedicated account intended to cushion future health-insurance costs and stabilize rates, changing where the funds are held and how they will support the district.

The evidence

September 10, 2026 approved minutes state that The Trust provided the district $1,378,541 about ten years ago, the funds were held by the Town in a school medical reserve, and the Committee voted 5–0 to transfer them to WB Community Health’s Premium Offset Account to establish a health-insurance reserve for future health-care costs and rate stabilization.
