Belmont Public Schools — Admin hiring

Between late March and late May of 2026, the Belmont School Committee wrapped up a series of administrative staffing decisions, beginning at the top of the organization. On the March 24, 2026 agenda, the Committee scheduled a possible vote on the Superintendent's contract, following multiple executive sessions on superintendent negotiations. The same revised agenda also scheduled a possible vote to appoint a Director of Student Services, coming on the heels of March 10 candidate interviews for that role.

Two months later, the Committee turned its attention to staff-wide terms of employment. The May 27, 2026 agenda included a scheduled vote to approve a Memorandum of Agreement with the Belmont Education Association (BEA) covering Units A, B, C, and D, reached through collective bargaining. Together, these actions show a period of consolidation across both the leadership ranks and broader staff agreements.
