Board running with only three active trustees

What happened

The five-member board declared vacancies in trustee Zones 1 and 4 in April 2026. By July neither seat had been filled from within its zone, so the district opened recruitment district-wide. The June meeting went ahead with only two trustees present. Zack Kast filled Zone 4 in September, and the October 12 agenda listed another trustee oath.

Why it matters to families

With few trustees, a single absence can leave the board unable to act. Residents anywhere in the district can now apply for the open seat.
