Committee recommends closing Eastover and Lone Pine tennis courts

What happened
The Finance and Operations Committee recommended closing the tennis courts at Eastover and Lone Pine because of their condition; the Board has not made a final closure decision. The committee requested further analysis of repair and replacement costs, use, athletics needs and possible alternatives before a future decision.
Why it matters to families
The recommendation could remove court access at two school sites, while the requested analysis may shape whether the district closes, repairs or repurposes the courts.
The evidence
The committee update in the agenda packet says the Eastover and Lone Pine courts’ current condition led the committee to recommend closure and request further analysis for a future invest-or-divest discussion. The review is to consider maintenance and replacement costs, utilization, scheduling, athletics, possible green space conversion and partnership opportunities; this is a committee recommendation, not a completed Board action.
