What happened

Canadian ISD issued $4.5 million in Series 2026 bonds for building, safety and school bus projects, and $3.8 million of it was still unspent on August 31, 2026. Voters approved $20 million in May 2024. The district has now issued $14.5 million, leaving $5.5 million that it has not yet issued.

Why it matters to families

The bonds pay for construction and safety work at the schools and are repaid through local property taxes. The remaining approved bonds mean more borrowing and building may still come.
