What happened

James O'Shea announced his retirement for June 2026. After rejecting an initial pair of finalists, the Committee advanced Susan Kustka, Brad Crozier, and Tracy Curley for final interviews for a one-year interim appointment.

Why it matters to families

The superintendent leads Carlisle's single-school district through its FY27 budget and strategic-planning work. A permanent-superintendent search was expected to follow later in 2026.

The evidence

January 14 minutes confirm O'Shea's planned June retirement. May 13 minutes record rejection of the first two finalists, and June 5 approved minutes record the vote advancing three new finalists. Later collected agendas schedule a final vote and contract but do not establish the selected candidate.
