Carmel High School announces a new block rotation and shared lunch
What happened
For 2026–27, Carmel High School announced an eight-cycle block schedule with 56-minute instructional periods and a 45-minute community lunch. Classes are scheduled from 7:29 a.m. to 2:10 p.m.; the principal expected morning bus pickups to shift about 20 minutes. On September 22, students and parents raised long lunch lines and access concerns; trustees asked staff to measure and address the problems.
Why it matters to families
Students and families must plan around different class rotations, lunch arrangements and transportation times. Clubs, supervised activities and enrichment opportunities are planned during the common lunch.
The evidence
The principal’s 2026–27 message describes the new rotation, daily times, community lunch and expected bus-pickup shift. Pickup times were to be communicated by transportation, so families should verify individual routes.
