Castle Heights Elementary School — Facilities

Castle Heights Elementary School is in the middle of a large, campus-wide construction effort that has reshaped where students, families, and staff can gather. The earliest alert, from August 2025, reported that HVAC and roofing work would keep the auditorium unusable until January, which moved the Holiday Program from December to January and flagged that future work would also displace Rooms 16-18 and the Main Office.

Those impacts then rippled through the winter. In January, the school learned the auditorium would not be ready until mid-February, forcing the January rescheduled performance to be scrapped in favor of a "Spring Sing" later in the year. By early February, the principal detailed two larger projects underway: a new nine-classroom, two-story building (expected to finish December 2026, with yardwork concluding December 2027) alongside a campus-wide HVAC/roof replacement that would require the Main Office to close temporarily.

Most recently, the school confirmed the office will relocate to Room 8 starting at spring break through the end of the year, with the parent center and devices moving to Room 11 and visitor entry routed through Room 8 into the kinder yard. Across these alerts, the most consequential pattern is the compounding effect of construction delays: event dates have shifted twice, and the main office, auditorium, and classrooms are all being temporarily relocated or closed as work continues.
