What happened

Starting September 3, 2026, Clarkstown High School North and South use a drop rotation schedule. Students can take up to eight courses. The day has six periods, and two courses drop out each day on a repeating cycle. Everyone gets a shared lunch from 10:25 to 11:00 a.m.

Why it matters to families

This changes the daily timetable, how long classes meet, and lunch for every high school student. The shared lunch can also be used for clubs and extra help, and North's campus is closed during it.

The evidence

The district's explainer video says students take up to eight courses over six periods, with courses 1 and 5, 2 and 6, 3 and 7, and 4 and 8 dropping together, and lunch 10:25-11:00 a.m. The superintendent's January 2026 video says it is an 8-day rotation. Captions are machine-generated.
