What happened
On August 20, 2026 the board approved a November 3 ballot question asking voters for a $4 million-a-year debt-free schools mill for building repairs, technology and maintenance. It also asks for an $80,000 increase to reach the 31% mill levy override cap, to be used for staff pay. The district estimates $29.05 a year for every $500,000 of home value. A committee listed about $4.2 million of critical first-year repair needs, and $175,000 a year would be shared with Georgetown Community School.
Why it matters to families
Passing would pay for repairs without borrowing and free up general fund money for pay. Failing would leave repairs and raises with less funding.
The evidence
Minutes record the vote approving Resolution 2026-1, the ballot question and the Georgetown agreement; the district's ballot-measure page gives the cost estimate. The election result is not in the collected record.
