What happened

Student services told trustees on October 8 that three teacher cohorts would receive grant-supported restorative-practices training this year, while acknowledging that financially driven staffing losses had weakened earlier capacity.

Why it matters to families

Training offers a concrete response, but implementation capacity and the still-pending policy revision need monitoring.

The evidence

Staff reported 665 suspensions in 2025–26 versus 932 in 2021–22, and six expulsions after 16 recommendations. These are in-house counts, not proof that bullying reports or all incidents decreased. Anti-bullying policy BP 5131.2 was still under review; residents continued requesting stronger followup.
