Cohasset Public Schools — Facilities

Cohasset's facilities work has centered on improving its school buildings with help from state programs. The earliest development covered here came in September 2025, when the district reported that the Joseph Osgood School roof replacement had moved forward with an approved $5.86 million schematic design and budget. Construction is expected to take place in summer 2026, and a Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) grant is expected to cover up to about $1.9 million of the cost.

A few months later, in December 2025, the district's Middle/High School moved into the next stage of state involvement: its Statement of Interest was accepted into a 270-day MSBA eligibility phase, running from April 1 through December 28, 2026. Most recently, in April 2026, the School Committee authorized an RFP process for potential solar arrays at Joseph Osgood and Deer Hill elementary schools, adding a new energy-related facilities project to the district's pipeline.

Taken together, these developments show Cohasset pursuing both building repairs and new infrastructure, with state support playing a significant role in the roof project and in exploring the Middle/High School's future needs.
