What happened

In September 2026 the board scheduled a Truth in Taxation hearing for November 17, 2026. Illinois requires this hearing when a district plans to raise its property tax levy by more than 5% over the year before. The board held the same kind of hearing in December 2025 and then approved the 2025 levy.

Why it matters to families

Property owners in the district may see higher school taxes. The November 17 hearing is the public's chance to comment before the board adopts the levy in December.

The evidence

The September 22, 2026 minutes record the motion to approve the Truth in Taxation meeting for November 17, 2026. The December 16, 2025 hearing agenda describes a hearing on the 'intent of the District to levy taxes in excess of 5%'. The December 16 minutes show the levy approved.
