What happened

The district’s posted policy allows certain noninstructional device use, with exceptions and potentially stricter building rules.

Why it matters to families

Families and students need to know when devices may be used at school.

The evidence

Policy 5136 is labeled revised June 17, 2026. It permits use before/after school, during lunch and between classes subject to disruption limits; other times devices must be off and out of sight. Emergency, health, IEP/504 and instructional exceptions apply. The precise changes on the revision date are unverified.
