What happened

On June 17, 2026, the board approved a revised wireless device policy. Students may generally use phones and similar devices only outside the school day. The old rule banned them only during class time. Exceptions remain for medical monitoring and special education needs.

Why it matters to families

Students can no longer use phones at lunch or between classes. The student handbook was updated with consequences for breaking the rule.

The evidence

The June 17, 2026 minutes say the revised policy limits device use to outside the school day, keeps medical and special education exceptions, and takes effect July 1, 2026. The posted May 2025 policy banned use only during instructional time.
