State-monitor plan: 73% of actions done, graduation and attendance worse

High-risk

What happened

The superintendent reported that of 81 required actions in last year's state-monitor plan, 59 were fully done and 20 partly done. Of 33 goals, 6 were met, 13 partly met and 13 not met. The four-year graduation rate fell and chronic absenteeism rose. Eight plan violations are being fixed.

Why it matters to families

The state can override board actions when the plan is not followed. These results show how far student outcomes still are from the goals.

The evidence

She said 'our four-year graduation rate declined. Chronic absenteeism actually went in the opposite direction that we wanted', staff evaluations were late and a climate survey was not given. Six goals were 'fully met, 13 are partially met and 13 were not met'.
