What happened

On May 18, 2026 the budget update showed a positive $2,000 fund balance for next year, a big improvement from a $300,000 deficit. The finance lead said funding now counts each extra student fully, and the budget uses real student counts. The board adopted the budget on June 30.

Why it matters to families

A balanced budget lowers the chance of cuts. The district reports about 290 students, and a drop in count could change the numbers (an October update noted $108,000 less from student count).

The evidence

The May 18, 2026 minutes give the $2,000 balance and funding change; the October 21, 2026 minutes give the $108,000 shortfall from student count.
