Board meeting speakers must now fill out cards first, presiding member says

Day-to-day

What happened

At the Aug. 19 meeting the presiding board member said the board changed its public comment rules in July. People who want to speak on agenda items must fill out a card before that comment period. No cards means no comment period.

Why it matters to families

Parents who want to speak at meetings now have to sign up at the entrance first.

The evidence

Captions of the Aug. 19 recording (machine-made) and Feb. 4 minutes, where the policy update said Policy 1230 now requires speaker cards.

The source
