Federal Way secures free school meals through June 2030

What happened

Federal Way will continue serving breakfast and lunch at no cost to all students districtwide through June 2030. This school year, the district is also bringing breakfast in classrooms and second-chance breakfast programs to its remaining schools.

The evidence

In its September 29 back-to-school update, Nutrition Services said the district completed its Community Eligibility Provision reapplication and secured approval for free meals districtwide through June 2030. The department said classroom breakfast and second-chance breakfast are being implemented at all remaining schools this school year.
