Board approves two-year full-day preschool pilot

What happened
The Board approved the Team Kentucky pilot on a 4-1 vote to serve additional four-year-olds in up to 12 full-day classrooms, four days each week. The recording says students already enrolled in the existing half-day preschool program remain in that program.
Why it matters to families
The pilot could expand full-day access for additional four-year-olds at four named schools; it does not convert every current preschool pupil to full day. Enrollment depends on staffing, and the $1.4-million-per-year grant program is not guaranteed after two years.
The evidence
The July 13 action page records approval of the pilot MOA. The official recording describes the 4-1 vote, funding, classroom plan, transportation, staffing limits and two-year term.
