What happened

The board approved an agreement with the Great Neck Teachers Association that extends the teachers' contract to June 30, 2030, after members ratified it. The superintendent said it adds pay incentives for continued learning and makes planning easier.

Why it matters to families

Salaries and benefits are the largest part of the budget. A contract through 2030 fixes pay terms, so a full round of bargaining will not happen soon. The terms were not read out at the meeting.
