New reading and writing curriculum for all grades
What happened
On March 11, 2026 the board approved new English language arts materials: Amplify Core Knowledge Language Arts (CKLA) for grades K-8, about $150,000 for six years, and HMH Into Literature for grades 9-12. A $65,000 federal literacy grant helps pay for grades 6-12.

Students in every grade will use new reading and writing materials.
