What happened

Policy 08.2323 directs Knott County Schools to maintain procedures for safe, secure and responsible AI use, including privacy, ethics, student safety and inspiration versus cheating or plagiarism.

Why it matters to families

Families have a districtwide policy basis for asking how classroom AI use, data privacy and academic integrity are implemented, while the policy itself does not create a detailed list of permitted tools or assignments.

The evidence

The current policy footer says Adopted/Amended July 14, 2026, Order 26-332, and its Emerging Technologies section specifically addresses artificial intelligence and generative AI features.
