Board looked at extending a bond, then held off on a 2026 election

What happened
On May 26 the board discussed a possible bond extension with bankers and a bond lawyer. On June 8 the board's direction to staff on a 2026 election was 'to hold off for now.'
Why it matters to families
A bond is borrowed money repaid by local property taxes. The district has aging buildings, and an October recording says a bond could raise about $8 million.
The evidence
May 26 minutes: Superintendent Bartlett led a discussion on a possible bond extension with RBC Capital Markets and Butler Snow. June 8 minutes: 'Direction to staff regarding 2026 election... the direction from the board was to hold off for now.' The October 26 recording mentions a bond issue 'in 2026 or beyond' that could raise $8 million. No 2026 ballot question was found.
