What happened

At the June 9, 2026 regular meeting, the Lakota Board of Education voted 5-0 to approve a resolution determining to proceed with a bond issue of $222,483,000 (approximately 0.92 mill... actually listed as Board 92) to be placed on the November 3, 2026 election ballot, certifying the measure to the Butler County Board of Elections. If approved by voters, bond collection would not begin until January 1, 2029, when current bonds roll off, aside from a small residual 0.1 mill.

Why it matters to families

This is a major facilities/budget decision that would place a large bond issue exceeding $222 million before voters, tied to the district's master facilities plan. If passed, it would significantly affect property tax rates for the community and shape long-term facility investment across the district.
