Plan: new turf fields and indoor practice buildings at both high schools
What happened
Phase three of the five-year capital plan proposes about $15.6 million for MacArthur and $13.6 million for Division Avenue for turf baseball and softball fields, steel indoor practice "field houses" and permanent restrooms. Wisdom Lane would get a parking lot expansion and restrooms ($2.25 million).
Why it matters to families
It is the biggest new building plan in the district's list, about $29.2 million for two high schools. It also shows how much of the $41.0 million of voter-approved capital money is already planned ($36.85 million), leaving about $4.2 million.
The evidence
The August 26, 2026 board presentation lists these projects and totals, says the plan is on schedule and under budget, and says the $4 million contingency is included. A September 16 slide says a May 2027 voter proposition could continue capital funding. These are plans, not final awards.
