District news
Board will ask the state to reconsider the district's accreditation rating
What happened
On Sept. 21 the board accredited all district-run and charter schools and directed the superintendent to file a "Request to Reconsider" the district's proposed accreditation rating with the State Board of Education. The district presentation said D38 ranks 15th of 184 districts statewide.
Why it matters to families
State ratings are public and can affect how families view the district and how it plans improvement.
The evidence
The Sept. 21 minutes record both motions. The collected documents do not state the proposed rating the district is disputing, or the reason.
