Lexington Public Schools — Financial

This fall the school committee began setting the stage for Lexington's FY27 budget. On September 30, following finance-subcommittee review, the agenda scheduled a vote on the district's FY27 budget guidelines and calendar. About a month later, on October 28, the committee's agenda placed a vote on the superintendent's contract after an executive-session bargaining discussion, tying personnel decisions into the same budget cycle.

Budget work picked up again in January. On January 13, the committee introduced a transportation and athletic fee proposal for review. Then, after two public hearings, the January 27 agenda scheduled a vote on the superintendent's recommended FY27 budget. Both the fee proposal and an updated version of the budget vote returned to the committee on February 10, indicating these items were still under active consideration as the budget season moved forward.
