Board doubles possible middle-school payments to $500,000 a year

What happened

Eight days after approving up to $250,000 a year toward a new middle school on Riddle Road, the board raised the limit to $500,000 a year for as long as five years. The city would issue bonds, and the district says it will keep at least $3 million in unrestricted reserves.
