District news
PK-4 and split middle-grade model moved into feasibility review
What happened
The committee tabled a proposal to move elementary schools to PK-4, McGlynn Middle to grades 5-6, and Andrews Middle to grades 7-8 until a transition task force validates feasibility and receives public input.
Why it matters to families
A district-wide grade reconfiguration could change which buildings students attend, their transitions between schools, transportation, and how overcrowding is addressed.
The evidence
Approved November 17 minutes record a unanimous motion to table the model pending a Middle School Transition Task Force, with implementation no earlier than 2027-28. A July 2026 agenda shows the topic remained active.
