Board considers amending the superintendent's employment contract, possibly raising his salary
What happened
At its June 9, 2026 meeting, the board scheduled discussion and possible action to amend Superintendent Jason Morse's employment contract. The agenda states the proposed amendment 'may include an increase in the Superintendent's annual base salary and may also include adjustments to other compensation terms and benefits,' and that any final action would be reported in open session with a summary of the changes. This follows the board's March 12, 2026 vote (5-0) to appoint Board President Michael Schaeffer to negotiate the contract on the district's behalf.
Why it matters to families
The superintendent is the district's top administrator, and a contract amendment - especially one that can include a base-salary increase - is a direct, publicly reportable change to how the district compensates its senior leadership. The collected record does not yet show the board's final vote or the resulting dollar figures.
The evidence
