Board remembers student killed while riding an e-bike

What happened

The board reported that a Menifee Valley Middle student was fatally hit while riding an e-bike on the day of the September meeting.

Why it matters to families

The loss sharpened community concerns about bike safety. Officials thanked counselors, social workers and school staff supporting students and the family.

The evidence

The October meeting opened with a moment of silence. The board chair later confirmed receiving the news during the September meeting, soon after a public e-bike safety comment. No collision fault, criminal finding or new e-bike restriction was established in these records.
