What happened

The board approved requesting a $13.6 million state loan because the 2024-25 deficit created a cash-flow problem for 2025-26.

Why it matters to families

The emergency financing and proposed tax increases showed that the district could not cover its obligations through its adopted budget alone.

The evidence

The October 7 resolution states that the district ended 2024-25 with a deficit, faced a 2025-26 cash-flow problem, and approved a $13.6 million loan request. The same meeting authorized ballot questions for $12.6 million and $7.6 million in additional taxes.
