What happened

The board met in closed session on March 3 and September 10, 2026 about replacing HVAC systems at Lewis-Arriola, Kemper and Mesa elementary schools and about HVAC litigation. On October 20 the interim superintendent recommended taking more time to review options from Performance Services.

Why it matters to families

Failing heating and cooling affects comfort and safety in classrooms. No contract has been approved.

The evidence

The March 3 agenda lists the executive session on replacement HVAC systems at the three schools, and the Oct 20 agenda says the superintendent recommends allowing time for more options.
