District news
District borrows up to $408,000 for a video scoreboard that sponsors are supposed to repay
What happened
On July 9, 2026 the board voted 7-0 to buy a video scoreboard from Fieldhouse Media for up to $408,000 and to take a loan for up to the same amount. Leaders said about $257,000 in sponsorships had been signed and that Fieldhouse agrees to cover the loan principal, interest and costs. The district must pay to run fiber to the board, at a cost not yet known.
Why it matters to families
The loan is in the district's name. If sponsorships fall short, the agreement says Fieldhouse must cover the gap, so that promise is what protects taxpayers.
The evidence
July 9, 2026 video records both 7-0 votes, the sponsorship total and the fiber cost. August 10, 2026 video records a resolution the bank required to finance the purchase.
