District news
Bus driver shortage pushes the district toward hiring an outside bus company
What happened
At a special meeting on August 24, 2026 the board heard a report on the school bus driver shortage and voted unanimously to let the superintendent negotiate with the company that answered the district's request for proposals for transportation services.
Why it matters to families
MSAD 75 has always run its own buses with district drivers. Contracting out routes changes who drives children to school and how the money is spent. The district says it still prefers its own drivers but recruitment has not filled the routes.
