What happened

Natick approved the later-start option for its 2027–28 calendar, moving the first day of school from August 25 to September 1. The calendar sets June 14 as the last day with no snow days, or June 22 if five snow days are used.

Why it matters to families

Families across the district can plan around the approved start and end dates, which shift the start one week later than the other option considered.

The evidence

At the November 2 meeting, the committee clarified its motion as adopting Option B for 2027–28 and approved it 5–0. The calendar presentation listed August 25 for Option A and September 1 for Option B, with June 14 as the no-snow-day end date and June 22 if there are five snow days.
