New principal named for Webster Elementary

What happened

The July 28 agenda included the appointment of Katherine Castellano, a former board trustee, as principal of Daniel Webster Elementary School. The superintendent said he hoped the board would approve it that evening, and the board then passed its batch of resolutions.

Why it matters to families

A principal leads daily life at a school, from staff to safety to programs. Webster is also one of the magnet schools that Vision 2030 talks could change.

The evidence

In the recording the superintendent announces the appointment before the vote and introduces Ms. Castellano from the audience. The recording does not read out the individual resolution, so the approval is inferred from the batch vote.
