District news

Elementary water service restored after filtration work

Facilities

What happened

The district announced that the county health department cleared Pequenakonck Elementary’s water system and the bottled-water notice ended. An older fountain that tested at 17.6 parts per billion of lead was replaced.

Why it matters to families

Families can understand the return to normal water service and the follow-up on an outlet that had been out of use.

The evidence

The district’s remediation plan reports that the replacement station retested below 1 part per billion and was cleared for service. Other outlets in the plan were designated for handwashing or dishwashing rather than drinking.
