District news
New high school opening slips to January 2027
What happened
High school students were scheduled to start in the new Northampton Collegiate and Technical High School on October 5, 2026. In August staff said staff would move in after Thanksgiving with classes there in January, and in October the owner's representative said even a December 24 completion date was uncertain.
Why it matters to families
Families should plan on the current building for at least the fall semester, and bus routes will change when the move happens.
The evidence
Aug 10, 2026 recording: staff can move in 'following Thanksgiving. With the plan being that school would open there in January.' Oct 12: of December 24, 'You'd be lucky to get it.'
