District reports more students are not fully receiving recommended special-education services
What happened
In its June 2026 superintendent report, District 23 said 88.5% of students were fully receiving recommended special-education services in 2025-26, while 11.5% were partially or not receiving them. The fully-receiving share was 90.7% in 2024-25 and 91.1% in 2023-24.
Why it matters to families
Students whose IEP services are only partially delivered or not delivered may miss support they are entitled to receive. The report says the district plans closer tracking with related-service supervisors and provider agencies next school year.
The evidence
The official June superintendent report gives the three-year service-delivery table and says some services are tracked in different systems, especially when outside agencies provide them.
