Orange Horizon therapeutic center opens at Scholars Academy

What happened
Orange Public Schools opened Orange Horizon, a new therapeutic center at Scholars Academy, for K–6 students returning from out-of-district placements. The program brings specialized support into the district, including clinicians and mental-health staff; no after-school program was planned at launch.
Why it matters to families
The center adds an in-district therapeutic option for students who otherwise return from out-of-district placements, giving affected students access to specialized services within Orange schools.
The evidence
The Sept. 9, 2026 minutes say Orange Horizon welcomed students at the start of the school year and was developed to serve students returning from out-of-district placements. The Aug. 12 minutes identify it as a new K–6 center at Scholars Academy, describe a classroom supported by mental-health technicians, clinicians, and a program coordinator, and state that no after-school program was planned at that time (documents 98961 and 90896).
